Physical Therapist

The Clyde-Savannah Central School District has an anticipated opening for Physical Therapist.  

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for:

• evaluating student needs as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

• making data-informed recommendations for service, support, modifications and accommodations

• developing data-informed goals and objectives related to skill development

• adhering to the Ethics and Professionalism Standards of APTA

• providing direct and indirect therapy along a continuum of prevention, promotion, and intervention

Head Bus Driver

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:     This position involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of buses in a school district transportation system.  A Head Bus Driver oversees the driver functions.   Supervision or direction of the repair and maintenance of school buses may or may not be a responsibility of the position.   On an on-going basis, the Head Bus Driver ensures that the school transportation operations conform with State laws and regulations.  Supervision is exercised over the activities of the Bus Drivers by observations and reports.  The incumbent does related work as required.


  • Prepares bus routes and schedules;

  • Dispatches buses;

  • Assigns drivers to regular and special field trips;

  • Calls and assigns substitute drivers;

  • Maintains time records for payroll purposes;

  • Maintains trip records and prepares transportation reports, including accident reports, bus mileage and gas and diesel fuel use;

  • Trains new drivers and assigns them to individual routes;

  • Checks the operation and cleanliness of buses;

  • Receives and responds to or refers complaints or questions concerning transportation services, parent concerns, stop changes, etc.;

  • Manages special transportation activities by arranging for drivers and buses;

  • May advise the responsible school district official of road hazards which may necessitate school closings or delays;

  • May operate a school bus on a regular route or as a substitute drive;

  • Aids in resolving student disciplinary problems on school buses;

  • Keeps continuing check on the maintenance and operation of all school district buses;

  • May perform Driving Reviews and Behind-the-Wheel road tests;

  • Consults with Transportation Supervisor regarding unusual problems.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:    Thorough knowledge of driving skills and the operation of buses; thorough knowledge of safety procedures, traffic laws and motor vehicle regulations applicable to school bus operation; working knowledge of automotive repair methods, costs, tools and terminology; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to keep and maintain computer records and reports; ability to get along well with others including the public; ability to operate a school bus; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Anticipated Registered Nurse

CLYDE-SAVANNAH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT has an anticipated opening for a Registered Nurse

Job Goal:

  • To provide primary health and emergency care to students, promote wellness, and serve as a liaison for health in the school community


  • To be performed in a manner consistent with professional standards, the New York State Nurse Practice Act, state regulations, and district policies.
  • Include, but are not limited to:
    • Uses the nursing process to assess the health needs of students and staff
    •  Administers medications and treatments per medical orders
    • Provides care for student illness and accidents
    • Develops individual and emergency health care plans and modifications for students with special health care needs
    • Serves as liaison between the home, medical community, and the school regarding student health concerns
    •  Manages mandated school screening programs, school/sports physicals and follow-up
    • Monitors the school environment and recommends changes to promote health and safety
    •  Coordinates school health services by managing the health office and supervising paraprofessionals, as needed
    • Prepares and maintains accurate cumulative health records including immunizations
    • Serves as resource person to home school, the school district, and community regarding health issues
    • Serves as a member of the building Multi-Tiered Student Support Team, and CSE, as needed
