Job Description

The Clyde-Savannah Central School District has an opening for a Senior Maintenance Mechanic.  Benefits and Health Insurance available.  The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for:

• Performing a variety of skilled duties involving carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, groundskeeping, etc.
• Diagnosing, repairing and maintaining building facilities
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Performing other position-related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities

Job Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of experience as a skilled worker in one or more of the mechanical or construction trades
• Good knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and accident precautions of one or more of the mechanical or construction trades
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints and diagnostic reports
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces or at heights
• Ability to communicate politely and professionally with school administrators, teachers, students, and community members
• Possession of NYS Driver’s license

• Special Qualification

• Special consideration will be given to candidates with electrical experience.
